Tech London Advocates launches to support British start-ups
Last week saw the launch of a new initiative called Tech London Advocates – a private sector led coalition of expert individuals from the tech sector and broader business, marketing and agency community who have committed to championing London’s potential as a world-class hub for tech and digital businesses and to support its start-ups in finding new investment, new talent and achieving high-growth.
Aligned with the Government’s ambition to turn London into “Europe’s digital capital”, Tech London Advocates will work with existing groups and initiatives to help accelerate the growth of London’s tech SMEs by facilitating partnerships with FTSE-250 businesses, international companies and investors. The group has been founded by Russ Shaw, angel and venture investor, member of Tech City Advisory Group and non-executive director of a number of high growth businesses.
Mhairi McEwan, CEO at Brand Learning was invited to attend the launch along with 150 other business leaders and influencers. High profile supporters of the group, who spoke at the launch, include Saul Klein, partner at Index Ventures; David Richards, founder and CEO of WANdisco; Julie Meyer, founder of Ariadne Capital; Sherry Coutu, co-chair of Silicon Valley comes to the UK; Simon Devonshire, director at Wayra Europe and Dan Crow, CTO of Songkick.
