Brand Learning was among six companies selected from several hundred mid –sized companies in the UK to be shortlisted for ‘Company of the Year (Mid-Size)’ in this year’s Growing Business Awards, held in association with Lloyds Bank and the CBI. Tracsis, AIM listed, won the top slot.

Now in their 14th year, the Growing Business Awards highlight some of the country’s most exciting, innovative and scalable business models. The winners were announced at a black tie gathering of A-list entrepreneurs, held at the London Marriot Grosvenor Square on November 27th.

Brand Learning, whose clients include Unilever, Shell, Vodafone, Kellogg, PepsiCo and AstraZeneca, was described by the judges as “nimble, thoughtful and focused – if only the UK had more companies like this.”  They went on to say that they were “struck by the consistently excellent performance and impressive international strategy”.

Brand Learning has received a number of accolades this year, including a top three position in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies Awards and a top ten ranking in the UK’s Best Workplace awards. Brand Learning has successfully built a business that, despite three recessions, has sustained profitable growth consistently – every single year for the last 12 years. In the last year alone it has also won new blue-chip clients Mars and Colgate.

Brand Learning has grown its international operations significantly over the past year and has recently opened an office in New York. Over 60% of Brand Learning’s business is now sourced outside the UK and it has worked with 120 clients in more than 60 countries.

Mhairi McEwan and Andy Bird, co-founders of Brand Learning, comment:

“We were delighted to be recognised by the Growing Business Awards, considered to be a premier showcase of enterprise in the United Kingdom, as one of the best mid–sized firms in the country. It’s also very gratifying to see dynamic marketing companies like ourselves and Brainjuicer recognised for making a valued contribution to British business success internationally.”

They continue:

“This past year has been a landmark year for us. Not only have we celebrated 12 great years in business but we've also had our first book, ‘The Growth Drivers’ (Wiley), published and opened our first overseas office in New York – the first of several planned globally in the next few years. “Our success is made possible by an extraordinary team of people who share deep expertise in marketing and a passion for learning. Never content to rest on our laurels, we are innovating in many areas and investing heavily to ensure that we deliver on our passion to transform the marketing capabilities and commercial performance of people, teams and organisations across the world.”
